Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micah Magnum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller has chosen Michael Jackson's Thriller as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Micah Magnum could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Damian Miller's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller looking to score a takedown here. Magnum is defending well but Miller drives through and ends up in Magnum's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Miller missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Miller throws an elbow that misses. Magnum uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Miller's guard. Nice move by Magnum!
Miller is trying to control the position but Magnum postures up.
Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Magnum accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Miller has his foot on Magnum's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Magnum works his way back into a safe position though.

Miller is looking to regain half guard here but Magnum keeps moving and retains side control.
Magnum wants to control but Miller is keeping him busy.
The ground and pound from Magnum seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Magnum is really struggling to control Miller but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Magnum throwing strikes but Miller manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
I wouldn't like to be where Magnum is right now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Magnum dodges the ground and pound from Miller.
Miller misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Magnum regains half guard.
Magnum is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Magnum moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Magnum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Miller postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Magnum swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Magnum looking for a guillotine here but Miller defends easily.

Miller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Magnum has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miller has managed to get both his arms back between Magnum's legs - danger averted.
Miller throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Magnum works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Miller lands a couple of digs.

Magnum is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Magnum drops back, looking for a kneebar! Miller looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Miller looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Miller!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Magnum is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Miller lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Miller.

Magnum fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Miller checks it well.
Magnum takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Magnum lands with a right and another and another! Miller is in big trouble! Magnum lands again and this time it's lights out for Miller! A quality knockout there for Magnum.

Micah Magnum was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
