Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

25 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenji Silva!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gahan throws a leg kick that misses.
Gahan misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gahan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gahan showed some decent athleticism there.
Silva wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva is in trouble now - Gahan has advanced to mount!
Silva takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Silva can't escape the position.
Gahan scoring with strikes but Silva is staying in there.

Silva tries to lock up and control but Gahan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gahan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silva's face.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A combination from Gahan does no damage.
Silva tries to sprawl but Gahan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gahan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva is not content to let Gahan control the position.

Dave Gahan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Silva, right into the meat.

Gahan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Silva.
Gahan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gahan lands in his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gahan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kenji Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gahan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Gahan looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Gahan throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
Gahan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Silva counters with a head kick.
Silva catches Gahan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Gahan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gahan throws a series of punches but Silva avoids them all with ease.
Gahan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Silva.
Gahan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gahan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Silva makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gahan really felt that one!
Dave Gahan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kenji Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Silva dips to his left and cracks Gahan with an uppercut!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva lands a brutal head kick. Gahan looks out on his feet and Silva throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
