Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Watanabe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenhin Battousai!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Watanabe there as he acknowledges the shot.
Battousai keeps the fight on the outside.
Watanabe tries to clinch up.
Watanabe has managed to clinch.
Battousai is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Battousai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Battousai is trying to pull guard but Watanabe has him pressed against the cage.
Watanabe gets control of Battousai's arms and successfully pulls guard. Watanabe will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Watanabe has a closed guard, preventing Battousai from standing up.
Battousai works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Battousai is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Watanabe to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Battousai wants to control from the top but Watanabe keeps moving.
Watanabe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Battousai throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Watanabe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Battousai trying to control but Watanabe is working from the bottom.
Battousai looking to improve position, pressing down on Watanabe's thigh with his hand. Watanabe seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Battousai paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Battousai's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Watanabe picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
