The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overim closes the distance but Hunt moves to the side
and Hunt counters with a straight right hand.
Hunt works the jab nicely.
Overim looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hunt lands a jab to Overim 's midsection.
Overim looks to clinch
and Hunt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Alistar Overim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Overim wants to clinch but Hunt slips to the side
and Hunt makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hunt scores with a jab.
Hunt circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hunt counters with a left to the body.
Hunt dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Overim is breathing heavily.
Overim misses with a takedown attempt
and Hunt counters with a straight right hand.
Hunt takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hunt scores with a hook to the body. Overim takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hunt lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Alistar Overim has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt gets in close and tags Overim with a short punch that almost sends Overim to the mat! Oh Overim is in big trouble! He turns his back on Hunt, trying to create some distance but Hunt rushes him, striking wildly and Overim goes down! The referee tackles Hunt into the cage to end the fight! Hunt is one violent man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Hunt!
