The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Louis drives through with a takedown into Brandt's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Louis wants to control from the top but Brandt keeps moving.
Brandt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Louis pushes Brandt off looking to stand but Brandt dives back in and keeps control.
Louis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Brandt scores with a couple of nice shots.
Louis is looking to control Brandt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Louis avoid being mounted?

It looks like DeAndre Louis has been cut.
Brandt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Brandt looking to finish Louis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Louis!
