Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hecker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JP Cool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeff Hecker has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Hecker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, JP Cool! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hecker shoots for a takedown but Cool saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Cool throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hecker's waist but Hecker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cool off to one side. Cool shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hecker's guard. Hecker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cool wants to control from the top but Hecker keeps moving. Cool is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hecker keeping moving, preventing Cool from controlling successfully. Cool drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hecker dives on top into guard. Hecker preventing the sweep. Hecker looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cool is looking for a triangle but Hecker pushes his legs off easily.
Hecker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cool has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hecker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hecker sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hecker trying to control but Cool is working from the bottom. Cool preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hecker wants to control from the top but Cool keeps moving. Hecker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cool looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hecker is one step ahead there. Hecker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jeff Hecker. Hecker lands a jab-cross combination. Hecker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hecker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hecker trying to control the position but Cool is working away. Cool takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hecker in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Cool tries to improve position but can't. Cool parries the strikes from Hecker easily there. Hecker is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cool to escape.
Sloppy strikes there by Hecker. Hecker throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hecker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cool keeps working. Hecker controls the position. Hecker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cool knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hecker sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cool is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cool wants to control but Hecker postures up. An elbow from Hecker crashes against the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cool can't do much from the bottom here. Cool is not content to let Hecker control the position. Hecker leaves Cool with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hecker closes the distance and clinches up with Cool, looking for a takedown. Hecker pushes Cool against the cage but Cool circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cool shoots in but Hecker avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cool tries for a takedown but Hecker circles away easily and Cool takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jeff Hecker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JP Cool. Hecker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cool defends it nicely. A momentary lapse in concentration from Cool enables Hecker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cool manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hecker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hecker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hecker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hecker trying to control but Cool is working from the bottom. Hecker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cool keeping moving, preventing Hecker from controlling successfully. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Jeff Hecker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hecker manages to regain half guard. Good work. Cool seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hecker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hecker tries to kick Cool off but Cool keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cool shoots in looking for a takedown but Hecker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cool's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hecker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Horrible takedown by Cool or perhaps it was just good defense by Hecker which made him look bad. Jeff Hecker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JP Cool. Hecker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cool looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hecker passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Cool! Hecker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cool's face.

He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hecker around the waist but Hecker pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hecker is the winner by TKO! Hecker jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
