Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Naboki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aldon Smith!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Naboki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Naboki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Naboki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Smith looks up at the clock and then as Naboki takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Smith smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Naboki is looking to regain half guard here but Smith keeps moving and retains side control.
Naboki could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Smith sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Naboki is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The strikes coming from Smith are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Smith scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Naboki to see if he's OK.
Smith postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Naboki is not content to let Smith control the position.
Naboki tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it.
The ground and pound from Smith seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Naboki is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Smith has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Smith tries for a kimura but Naboki is defending well.
Smith throws a strike aimed at the side of Naboki's head but Naboki avoids it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Naboki is working to avoid the ground and pound but Smith connects with a decent elbow.

Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Smith crunches a massive hammerfist down on Naboki - he's out! Smith Holds back on further strikes and jumps to his feet to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Aldon Smith!
Aldon Smith bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
