PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Dark Dutch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dutch comes to the ring accompanied by feuer frei. Monroe has chosen Danzig - Mother as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Monroe!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dutch has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Monroe pushes Dutch up against the ropes in a clinch.
Monroe is trying to force a seperation but Dutch has the dominant position.

Monroe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Monroe throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dutch counters with a nice uppercut.
Dutch moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Monroe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dutch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Monroe.
Monroe lands a head kick. Dutch smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Dutch scores with a body shot.
Dutch misses with a body kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Monroe moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Monroe throws a head kick but Dutch moves out of range.
Dutch on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Monroe. Monroe obviously looking to wear him down.
Monroe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Monroe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dutch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Monroe tries to bum rush Dutch with a series of wild strikes but Dutch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Monroe connects with a high kick.

Dutch has closed the distance and engaged Monroe in a clinch.
Monroe wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dutch's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Monroe throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Monroe throws a low kick but Dutch moves out of range easily.

Dutch rushes Monroe and presses him up against the ropes.

Monroe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dutch throws out the jab.

Monroe misses with an attempted mid kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Dutch.

Dutch with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Monroe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
No joy there for Monroe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Monroe bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dutch's head backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dutch slips a jab and a cross from Monroe.

Dutch scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Monroe looks winded!
Dutch connects with the punch.
Dutch lands a body shot.
Dutch misses with an uppercut.
Monroe tries a head kick but it misses.
Dutch doesn't manage to clinch there - Monroe circles away.
A low kick from Monroe is predictable there
and Dutch counters with a slapping leg kick.
Dutch thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Monroe if he has to take too many more of those.
Dutch comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dutch throws a sloppy head kick and Monroe moves out of range easily.
Monroe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dutch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dutch tests Monroe's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dutch tries to clinch up.
A left lands for Dutch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dark Dutch dominated that round.
That's time! Dutch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Monroe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dutch takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Dutch scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Monroe beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.

Monroe is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Monroe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Dutch rushes Monroe and presses him up against the ropes.
A knee to the head by Dutch.
Monroe tries to break the clinch but Dutch is controlling the position.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Dutch.
Dutch lands a nice uppercut.
Monroe wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dutch has him pressed against the ropes.
Dutch scores with a shot to the side of Monroe's head.
Monroe has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Monroe looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Dutch lands an elbow that stopped Monroe in his tracks for a moment.
Monroe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Dutch cracks Monroe on the bridge of the nose with a nasty looking elbow! Monroe crumples to the floor in pain, holding his face! It doesn't look like he's going to beat the count - he's out of it! This one is all over!
