PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Rakhmanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marek Jebut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rakhmanov comes to the cage accompanied by Russian national anthem. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marek Jebut was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rakhmanov throws a shot from downtown. Jebut moves away and avoids it.
A swing and a miss from Jebut.
Jebut is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rakhmanov.
Rakhmanov thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rakhmanov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jebut connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rakhmanov loads up on a big right hand but Jebut slips the punch.
Jebut tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rakhmanov is able to avoid easily.
Rakhmanov is looking to slow Jebut down with leg kicks.
Rakhmanov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jebut.
Rakhmanov throws a hook but Jebut avoids it easily.
Rakhmanov misses with a body shot.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mikhail Rakhmanov.

Rakhmanov tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Rakhmanov is looking to control Jebut's arms but Jebut gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rakhmanov has his back to the cage.

Jebut trying to control the position but instead, Rakhmanov has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jebut into the cage.
Rakhmanov wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Rakhmanov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jebut clobbers Rakhmanov with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Rakhmanov misses with a series of wild punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Marek Jebut will probably get the nod.

Rakhmanov pulls Jebut in close to prevent any damage.
Jebut looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jebut postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Rakhmanov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jebut accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rakhmanov has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Jebut has passed into side control.
Jebut looks up at the clock and then as Rakhmanov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jebut smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marek Jebut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jebut stalks Rakhmanov and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rakhmanov's face. Rakhmanov staggers backwards, shaken.
Jebut fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rakhmanov avoids it really well and circles away.

Jebut has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rakhmanov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jebut.

I would just about give that final round to Marek Jebut.
