12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jannis Arvanitidis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rory Kincade! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kincade shoots in but no luck this time. Kincade fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Arvanitidis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kincade manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kincade is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kincade wants to sweep but no luck. Arvanitidis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Arvanitidis with a flurry of punches that miss. Kincade is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Arvanitidis defends well. Arvanitidis wants to control from the top but Kincade keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arvanitidis trying to move into half guard but instead Kincade has managed to sweep! Kincade postures up and lands a big shot to Arvanitidis's brow. Kincade slips nicely into half guard. Kincade missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Arvanitidis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kincade pulls his head out easily. Arvanitidis is staying active underneath Kincade, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kincade wants to free his trapped foot but Arvanitidis is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kincade has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Horrible takedown by Kincade or perhaps it was just good defense by Arvanitidis which made him look bad. Jannis Arvanitidis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rory Kincade. Arvanitidis shoots in looking for a takedown. Kincade tries to sprawl out of it but Arvanitidis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kincade manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kincade decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Arvanitidis is trying to get back to full guard. Arvanitidis wants to get back to his feet. Arvanitidis is looking to improve his position.
Kincade is keen to just control but Arvanitidis is a slippery customer. Kincade works his way into full mount! Arvanitidis tries to reverse the position but Kincade maintains control. Arvanitidis regains half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Arvanitidis looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Arvanitidis pushes Kincade off looking to stand but Kincade dives back in and keeps control.

Arvanitidis blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kincade. Arvanitidis tries to kick Kincade off but Kincade keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kincade prevents Arvanitidis from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kincade thumps the canvas. A close round but Rory Kincade will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Arvanitidis takes a body punch but keeps moving. Arvanitidis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kincade avoids it really well and circles away. Arvanitidis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kincade. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kincade. Kincade is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Arvanitidis has escaped the position, nice work there. Arvanitidis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Arvanitidis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kincade's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kincade's back! Kincade defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Arvanitidis's arms. Arvanitidis has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Arvanitidis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Arvanitidis goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kincade has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Arvanitidis but great work by Kincade. Arvanitidis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Kincade not landing any meaningful shots this time. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Arvanitidis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. This has been an exciting period of action! Kincade is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Arvanitidis is on top in guard.

That was a close round but Jannis Arvanitidis did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kincade wants to control the action here but instead Arvanitidis manages to pass to full mount! Arvanitidis is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Kincade is forced to tap! Great finish!
