Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Valerio Bertoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morrison comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Metalingus kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Valerio Bertoto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Valerio Bertoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bertoto gets caught flat footed, as Morrison shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Bertoto is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bertoto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Morrison defends well.

Bertoto is looking for a triangle but Morrison pushes his legs off easily.
Morrison postures up and lands a big shot to Bertoto's brow.
Morrison has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bertoto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morrison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morrison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bertoto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morrison gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Morrison lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Bertoto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morrison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morrison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bertoto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Morrison defends well.

Morrison passes Bertoto's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Morrison slips a nice elbow through Bertoto's hands, connecting with Bertoto's forehead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Morrison is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bertoto sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bertoto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Morrison thows a huge punch but Bertoto dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morrison is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Morrison is pressing down on Bertoto's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bertoto is holding on for now.
Morrison working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Morrison connects with a nice short shot to Bertoto's temple.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Morrison dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bertoto throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Morrison escapes and throws Bertoto's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bertoto tries to improve position but can't.
Bertoto is working hard here to advance position.
Bertoto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

You can see the frustration on Bertoto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bertoto is rocked!

Morrison is trying to get an arm triangle but Bertoto is defending well.
Oh Bertoto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bertoto is working to avoid the ground and pound but Morrison connects with a decent elbow.
Bertoto is trying to control Morrison's posture but Morrison avoids it.
Morrison cracks Bertoto with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Morrison immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Bertoto is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Morrison!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Morrison!
John Morrison decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
