Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Uriel Roost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dick Dew!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roost keeps the fight on the outside.
Dew misses with a body shot.
Roost slaps away a takedown attempt from Dew, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dew uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Roost.
Dew shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roost sprawls well. Roost wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dew gets slowly back to his feet.
Roost chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dew can pounce on him.
Roost thuds his right hand into Dew's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Dick Dew has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roost cracks Dew with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Roost rushes Dew and presses him up against the cage.
Dew wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Roost pushes Dew back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Roost's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Roost misses with a hook to the ribs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A nice left hand lands by Roost.
Roost wants to break free but Dew has control.
Roost scores with a shoulder strike.
That has opened up Dick Dew's cut even more.
Roost breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Roost has managed to clinch.
Roost avoiding damage as Dew throws knees to the body.
Dew keeps control of Roost as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Dew gets control of Roost's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dew will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Roost is looking to work some ground and pound but Dew has wrist control.
Dew is trying to control the position but Roost postures up.
Roost could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Roost with a nice head shot there.
Roost throws an elbow that misses. Dew uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roost's guard. Nice move by Dew!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dew loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roost pulls Dew in close to his closed guard and prevents Dew from doing any damage or advancing position.
Roost working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dew.
Roost utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dew throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Roost controlling the position.
Roost wants to sweep but no luck.
Roost preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Roost pulls Dew in to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Uriel Roost has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A left and a right from Roost both land. Nice combination.
The cut above Dick Dew's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Roost lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Dick Dew's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dick Dew's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Uriel Roost!
