0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Rogers! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Agarkamov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rogers swats him away and circles back towards the center. Some wild striking there from Rogers.
Rogers waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Agarkamov. Rogers throws a right and a left that both miss. Agarkamov closes the distance and clinches. Agarkamov lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Steve Rogers has been cut. Rogers drops down looking for an ankle pick but Agarkamov pulls his leg out and moves away.
Agarkamov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rogers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Agarkamov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rogers, pushing him back against the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Agarkamov just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rogers's brow. With the fighters up against the cage, Agarkamov throws an elbow but misses. Agarkamov lands an elbow that stopped Rogers in his tracks for a moment. Agarkamov pushes off an throws an elbow but Rogers leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rogers has hold of one of Agarkamov's legs. Agarkamov is fighting the takedown attempt but Rogers gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. OK we're going to have a standup here. Steve Rogers hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Rogers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Agarkamov drops his hands momentarily and Rogers takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Agarkamov tries to clinch and Rogers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Agarkamov won't be happy with that.

Rogers is looking to take a break and control but Agarkamov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rogers working the head with strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rogers takes a little break here. Agarkamov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Agarkamov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rogers's efforts to push away. Rogers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Agarkamov pulls him back up using the underhooks. Rogers misses with a hook from the clinch. Agarkamov breaks the clinch.

Agarkamov has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Agarkamov wants to stand up but Rogers is controlling him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rogers's corner. Rogers won't allow Agarkamov to get back to his feet. Rogers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Rogers controls from within his opponent's guard. Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Agarkamov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Steve Rogers wasn't active enough on the ground. Rogers circles away from the clinch attempt and Rogers moves into the clinch.

Agarkamov pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Rogers goes for a takedown attempt but Agarkamov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Rogers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Agarkamov keeps working. Rogers looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Agarkamov dodges the ground and pound from Rogers. Rogers is staying tight to Agarkamov's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rogers landing a few strikes. Rogers is looking to take a break and control but Agarkamov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tim Agarkamov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Steve Rogers is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
