Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kendell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Vetun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Kendell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roger Vetun!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kendell closes the distance and pushes Vetun back into the cage.
Vetun fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kendell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vetun has him pressed against the cage.
Kendell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vetun pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kendell shoots in for a double leg but Vetun sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vetun looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vetun stuffs the takedown attempt from Kendell. Kendell gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Kendell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vetun shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Vetun with that takedown attempt.

Kendell darts in and clinches Vetun up against the cage.
Vetun has Kendell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kendell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Kendell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vetun is letting Kendell control him for a moment.

Kendell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vetun knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vetun is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kendell off and has taken his back!

Kendell breaks Vetun's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Kendell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kendell tries to close the distance and clinch but Vetun swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kendell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Vetun backs up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Kendell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vetun defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kendell.
Kendell shoots in but no luck this time.
Vetun looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kendell is fending him off so far but Vetun persists. Nope, Kendell circles away and we're back to standing.

and Vetun counters with a big head kick but Kendell shrugs it off.

Kendell closes the distance and clinches up with Vetun, looking for a takedown. Kendell pushes Vetun against the cage but Vetun circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Vetun closes the distance and clinches up with Kendell, looking for a takedown. Vetun pushes Kendell against the cage but Kendell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Kendell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kendell shoots in for a double leg but Vetun sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vetun throws a chopping leg kick but Kendell manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Vetun thows a body shot but no joy.
Horrible takedown by Kendell or perhaps it was just good defense by Vetun which made him look bad.
Vetun misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vetun shoots in for a takedown but Kendell shows good takedown defense.
Kendell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kendell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Vetun fails with a takedown attempt.
Kendell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vetun tries to avoid it but Kendell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vetun to the ground. Vetun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vetun throws a head kick but Kendell moves out of range.

Kendell has closed the distance and engaged Vetun in a clinch.
Kendell tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vetun avoids it.

Kendell is trying to control the position but Vetun postures up.
Vetun wants to stand but Kendell has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kendell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Kendell wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Kendell clinches up against the cage.
Vetun with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Vetun tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kendell smiles and moves away.
Kendell misses with a low kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vetun shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kendell pinned against the cage. Kendell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kendell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vetun, pushing him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Kendell.
Well Kendell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
