Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Matsuoka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howard Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsuoka comes to the cage accompanied by Mack the Knife. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato tries to close the distance and clinch but Matsuoka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Matsuoka throws a head kick that misses.
Matsuoka throws a sloppy head kick and Sato moves out of range easily.
Sato lands a nice hook to Matsuoka's body. Matsuoka takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Matsuoka bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sato's head.
Sato tries a head kick but it misses.
Matsuoka avoids the head kick by Sato.
Sato tries to clinch but Matsuoka moves out of range.
Sato wants to clinch but Matsuoka slips to the side
and Matsuoka counters with a left and a right that stings Sato.
Sato throws a lazy head kick
and Matsuoka counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Matsuoka looks at the referee who does nothing so Matsuoka lands a crushing right that sends Sato to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryo Matsuoka!
A relieved looking Ryo Matsuoka thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
