Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Laid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deshawn Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Laid!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wallace shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wallace winds up and cracks Laid with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Laid works his way to full guard. Good work.
Laid manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Laid thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Laid swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Wallace is now in Laid's guard. A big mistake from Laid there, giving up the dominant position!

Wallace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Laid is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wallace defends well.
Wallace loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Wallace content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Wallace is working Laid over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Wallace keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Laid's head.

Laid had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wallace defends it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Laid looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wallace has picked Laid up and slammed him! Laid can't keep hold of the triangle and Wallace manages to pass to side control!

Wallace wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laid keeps working.
Wallace in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Laid is looking to regain half guard here but Wallace keeps moving and retains side control.

Wallace is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Laid sees it coming and defends easily.
Laid wants to get back to full guard.
Wallace seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Laid does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wallace is really struggling to control Laid but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laid manages to get to full guard.
Wallace trying to control but Laid is working from the bottom.

Wallace wants to control from the top but Laid keeps moving.

Laid has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wallace is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Laid.
Wallace cracks Laid with a big right hand but Laid just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wallace advances to full mount.

Wallace scoring with strikes but Laid is staying in there.
Laid takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Laid is rocked!

A nice elbow there by Wallace.
Laid is still in real trouble! Can Wallace finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wallace unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Laid wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Wallace celebrates on the ropes and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deshawn Wallace!
