Good work by Holyfield as he checks the leg kick.
Mubiala fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Holyfield.
Holyfield pushes Mubiala up against the ropes in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mubiala takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Mubiala tries to throw a body punch but Holyfield avoids it by throwing Mubiala back against the ropes.

Holyfield closes the distance and clinches up with Mubiala, looking for a takedown. Holyfield pushes Mubiala against the ropes but Mubiala circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Holyfield is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mubiala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holyfield swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mubiala stands and throws Holyfield's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Holyfield is not content to let Mubiala control the position.

Mubiala seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Holyfield does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jean Marie Mubiala wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Mubiala looks to throw a body kick
letting Holyfield counter with a right hand.
Holyfield cracks Mubiala with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Mubiala is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Holyfield sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Mubiala's defenses. It connects perfectly with Mubiala's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Evander Holyfield!
A relieved looking Evander Holyfield thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
