The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ben Asa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Emelianenko pushes Ben Asa up against the cage in a clinch.
Emelianenko is trying to break the clinch but Ben Asa has him pressed against the cage.
Emelianenko is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ben Asa to keep the fight standing.
Emelianenko successfully pulls guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ben Asa passes Emelianenko's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ben Asa is trying to work for a kimura but Emelianenko is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Emelianenko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ben Asa pinned against the cage. Ben Asa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ben Asa dives in and grabs Emelianenko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Emelianenko pushes down on Ben Asa's head and hops out.

Emelianenko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Emelianenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ben Asa is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emelianenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Ben Asa counters with a nice double leg into side control. Emelianenko won't be happy with that.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Emelianenko prevents Ben Asa from getting a body triangle.
Ben Asa working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Emelianenko is doing well to defend. Ben Asa seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Emelianenko is forced to tap and this one is over!
