Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Syrus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyson Syrus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Syrus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cooper swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cooper tries to clinch up but Syrus circles away and keeps his distance.

Syrus looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Syrus wants to take a breather but Cooper is having none of it.
Cooper is looking for a sweep. Syrus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cooper is trying is best to control the position here.

Syrus seems to be looking for submissions.
Cooper is trying to get back to full guard.
Cooper holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Syrus not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Syrus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Syrus is pressing down on Cooper's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cooper is holding on for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Syrus pushes down on Cooper's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Syrus drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cooper manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Syrus has Cooper in his guard.

Syrus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cooper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
