Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Maniche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Maniche!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maniche fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maniche throws a series of punches but Coleman avoids them all with ease.
Coleman dodges the punch combination from Maniche.
Maniche misses with a two punch combination.
Maniche throws a nice looking combination but Coleman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Coleman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maniche sprawls well initially but Coleman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Coleman is keen to just control but Maniche is a slippery customer.
Coleman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Maniche kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Coleman is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coleman is working for a submission of some sort.
Maniche won't allow Coleman to pass to mount.
Maniche tries to get to full guard but Coleman has control of the leg.

Coleman wants to control but Maniche is keeping him busy.
Maniche pushes Coleman off looking to stand but Coleman dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Coleman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Maniche keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Coleman dodges the punch combination from Maniche.
Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maniche as he jumps to the side.

Maniche lands a nice shot to the body.
Coleman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maniche.
Coleman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Coleman takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Maniche is breathing heavily.
Maniche looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Maniche misses with the combination.
Maniche looks to score with a jab to the body but Coleman is just out of range.
Coleman dodges the punch combination from Maniche.
Maniche throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Coleman has Maniche up against the cage in a clinch.

Coleman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maniche will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Maniche fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Coleman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Maniche wants to stand but Coleman is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coleman tries to free his leg and advance position but Maniche is retaining full guard.
Coleman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Coleman in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Coleman tries for a kimura but Maniche is defending well.

Coleman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maniche has escaped the position, nice work there.
Coleman trying to control the action but Maniche is working from the bottom.
Coleman moves into full mount!
Maniche is looking to get to half guard.
Maniche regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Coleman dominated that round.
That's time! Maniche's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Coleman has a takedown stuffed.

Coleman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Coleman is looking to take a break and control but Maniche is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Maniche misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Maniche tries to get to full guard but Coleman has control of the leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Coleman stalling away here and it's allowed Maniche to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Coleman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Maniche is keeping the position for now.
Coleman looking to sit in guard and control but Maniche gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Maniche wants to stand but Coleman is controlling his posture from full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maniche fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coleman manages to avoid it.
Coleman fails with the takedown.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Maniche thows a body shot but no joy.
Maniche throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sam Maniche is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Maniche throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Maniche swinging wilding here.

Coleman looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Coleman passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Coleman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Coleman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Maniche down.

Coleman lands a decent elbow from side control.
Maniche throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Coleman tries for a kimura but Maniche is defending well.
Maniche sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Coleman winds up and cracks Maniche with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Coleman content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Maniche kicks Coleman off and gets back to his feet.

Maniche swings for the body but Coleman moves out of range.

Coleman has taken the fight to the clinch.

Maniche breaks the clinch.
Maniche keeps the fight on the outside.
Maniche throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Maniche tries to break the clinch but Coleman is controlling the position.
Coleman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Sam Maniche has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Coleman.
Maniche is trying to break free.

Coleman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coleman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Maniche throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Coleman is trying to control the position but Maniche postures up.
Maniche trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Steve Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Maniche thuds a left hand into Coleman's body.
Maniche is looking to wear down Coleman with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Maniche looks to score with a jab to the body but Coleman is just out of range.
Coleman has a takedown stuffed.
Maniche misses with a series of wild punches.
Coleman shoots in looking for a takedown. Maniche tries to sprawl out of it but Coleman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maniche manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Coleman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maniche swivels and escapes.
Sam Maniche has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Coleman.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maniche swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Coleman steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maniche.

Coleman shoots in and bounces Maniche off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Maniche trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Coleman stopping the sweep attempt from Maniche.

Maniche is looking to sweep but instead, Coleman has passed into half guard.
Maniche wants to get back to full guard but Coleman has passed into side control.
BOOM! Coleman connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Coleman moves to the back position.
Maniche is really stuck here.

Coleman has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Coleman has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Maniche has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Maniche breaks Coleman's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Maniche postures up in Coleman's guard and throws a big left but Coleman blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maniche accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Coleman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maniche's guard.
Coleman trying to control but Maniche is working from the bottom.
Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maniche swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maniche keeping moving, preventing Coleman from controlling successfully.
Coleman won't allow Maniche to sweep him here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Coleman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Coleman is trying to control the action in half guard but Maniche is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Maniche misses with the combination.
Maniche throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sam Maniche seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Maniche throws a series of punches but Coleman avoids them all with ease.
Coleman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Maniche throws a right and a left that both miss.

Coleman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Sam Maniche has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Coleman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Steve Coleman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Coleman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
