Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vernon Mcllin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcllin comes to the cage accompanied by 300 Brolic. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard clinches up with Mcllin and pushes him back against the cage.
Mcllin wants a takedown but no success here.
Mcllin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Howard can't find room to land a body shot as Mcllin controls the action.
Howard wants to take the fight to the mat but Mcllin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mcllin breaks from the clinch.
Mcllin stuffs the takedown attempt from Howard. Howard gets slowly back to his feet.
Howard fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Howard feints and as Mcllin raises his hands in defense, Howard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Howard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcllin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Howard postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Howard forces his way into half guard.
Howard is working for a submission of some sort.
Still in half guard, Howard seems content to control.
Howard's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Howard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mcllin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Howard in particular looking to stall.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jordan Howard hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Mcllin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Howard avoids a punch combination nicely.
Howard manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mcllin on his heels. He'll look to pass Mcllin's guard now, I'm sure.
Mcllin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Howard on the ground.
Howard throws a big elbow that misses.

Howard is in close to Mcllin's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Howard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mcllin controls Howard momentarily but Howard frees himself.
Mcllin is breathing heavily.

Howard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Howard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mcllin circles away.
Vernon Mcllin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Howard.
Howard fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Howard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcllin sprawls well. Mcllin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Howard gets slowly back to his feet.

Howard misses with a takedown attempt - Mcllin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Howard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mcllin sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Howard advances to mount.

Howard is landing with some decent strikes but Mcllin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Howard wants to finish this one by submission but Mcllin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Howard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Howard decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Howard wants to take Mcllin's back here but Mcllin is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Howard throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Mcllin has his hands clasped together but Howard breaks the hold and Mcllin is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Howard!
