The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benoit shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Benoit is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Handsome wants to control but Benoit is keeping busy.
Handsome avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Benoit.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Handsome tries to get to full guard but Benoit has control of the leg.

Benoit seems to be looking for submissions.
Benoit seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Handsome does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Handsome tries to roll over but Benoit keeps him under control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Benoit looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Handsome with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Benoit shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Handsome sprawls well. Handsome wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Benoit gets slowly back to his feet.

Benoit throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Handsome was covering up waiting for the punch and Benoit finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Frank Benoit wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
No luck for Handsome with that takedown attempt.

Benoit feints and as Handsome raises his hands in defense, Benoit changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
