The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Machida closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jackson quickly recovers to half guard.
Machida is looking for a kimura but Jackson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Machida to get the leverage.
Jackson tries to get to full guard but Machida has control of the leg.
Machida scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
It looks like Steven Jackson has been cut.
Machida thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.
