Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Redcorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergio Vega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Redcorn! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redcorn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Still in half guard, Redcorn seems content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Redcorn trying to pass the guard but Vega defending well. Redcorn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
 The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Redcorn. Vega works over Redcorn's head and body with a nice combination. Danga de danga de dang - Vega scores with a four punch combination!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Redcorn shoots in looking for a takedown. Vega tries to sprawl out of it but Redcorn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vega manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. John Redcorn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vega circles away from the clinch attempt.
Redcorn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vega avoids it really well and circles away. Redcorn misses with a takedown attempt and Vega counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sergio Vega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Redcorn. Redcorn tries to close the distance and clinch but Vega swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vega's corner calls for a 1-2. Vega obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Redcorn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Redcorn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vega to score an easy takedown into full guard. Vega wants to control from the top but Redcorn keeps moving. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Redcorn looking to control.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sergio Vega. Vega pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Redcorn back to the cage. Vega follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Redcorn misses with a straight right. Redcorn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vega but Vega pushes him off and we're back to square one. Vega lands a nice shot that snaps Redcorn's head back.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Vega avoids the head kick by Redcorn.

Redcorn misses with an uppercut. Vega saw that one coming. Redcorn shoots and misses and Vega counters with a nice body shot. Redcorn on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vega comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Vega paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Redcorn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Sergio Vega dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Vega lands a nice hook to Redcorn's body. Redcorn takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Redcorn doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vega counters with a right hand to the body. John Redcorn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vega keeps the fight on the outside. Vega lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Redcorn looks to land a combination but Vega avoids it well. Redcorn tries to clinch but Vega is having none of it. Vega keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Redcorn. Vega throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Redcorn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Redcorn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Vega is trying to stand.
Redcorn is breathing heavily. Vega pushes Redcorn off but Redcorn dives into side control.
Redcorn prevents Vega from escaping the position. Redcorn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Redcorn tries to get to his feet but Vega is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Redcorn in his guard. Redcorn engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Redcorn has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vega is proving hard to escape from. Vega wants to stand up but Redcorn is controlling him.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
 John Redcorn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Jab from Vega. Redcorn shoots in looking for a takedown. Vega tries to sprawl out of it but Redcorn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage.  That's four minutes gone in the round. Redcorn tries to clinch but Vega is having none of it. Vega stuffs the takedown attempt from Redcorn. Redcorn gets slowly back to his feet. Redcorn needs to keep his hands up - Vega had a free shot at his head there. Vega lands a right hook to the body.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Vega scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Vega throws a shot to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vega stuns Redcorn with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Sergio Vega will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Vega scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Redcorn is trying to improve his position. Vega trying to control the action but Redcorn is working from the bottom. Vega knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Redcorn on the ground. Redcorn struggling a bit here. Vega working the strikes but Redcorn uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Redcorn trying to hold on to Vega's head to control him but Vega postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Redcorn can do anything to dispel that myth. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vega in particular looking to stall.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. John Redcorn was stalling too much, according to the referee. Redcorn shoots in but Vega avoids the takedown attempt easily. Redcorn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Redcorn misses with a takedown and Vega counters with a nice uppercut.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Redcorn throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Redcorn tries to close the distance and clinch but Vega swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Redcorn tries for a takedown but Vega circles away easily and Vega connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sergio Vega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Redcorn. Redcorn wants to clinch. Jab from Vega.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Vega's jab looks to have found its range, popping Redcorn under the eye. Nice uppercut there from Vega. Vega keeps the fight on the outside. Redcorn with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vega to score with a decent uppercut. Vega stuffs the takedown. Redcorn doesn't manage to clinch there - Vega circles away.
Vega lands a nice looking body shot.

Redcorn is rocked! Vega throws a jab but it's blocked by Redcorn. Sergio Vega is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Redcorn is still on wobbly legs! Can Vega finish him?
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Redcorn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vega. Vega throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Redcorn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Vega throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Vega connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Redcorn tumbling to the canvas! Vega pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Redcorn was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sergio Vega!
