Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Quentyn Martell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eugene Green!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green with a lazy takedown attempt
and Martell counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Martell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Martell wants it to stay on the feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Martell, right into the meat.
Green tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Martell throws a head kick that Green semi-blocks.
Green has his takedown stuffed
and Martell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Quentyn Martell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eugene Green.
Green shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Martell counters with a head kick that drops Green to the mat! Green scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Green is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Martell lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Green head around and knocks him out cold! Martell hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Quentyn Martell!
