Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Lytle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deon Walker! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Lytle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Walker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Walker postures up and lands a big shot to Lytle's brow. Lytle looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lytle keeping full guard, as Walker tries to pass. Walker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Lytle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walker is aware though and is defending well. Lytle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Walker. Lytle has his foot on Walker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walker works his way back into a safe position though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lytle has momentary wrist control but Walker slips an elbow through the middle. Lytle looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Walker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lytle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walker defends it easily. Walker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Walker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Walker pushing down on Lytle's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Walker prevents Lytle from improving his position. Lytle looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lytle tries to get to full guard but Walker has control of the leg. Lytle is refusing to be controlled, as Walker sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Walker seems content to control. Lytle gets back to full guard.
Lytle tries to land a sweep but no joy. Walker pushes down on Lytle's leg and manages to get into half guard. Walker wants to pass to mount but Lytle is defending the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lytle is trying to get back to full guard. Lytle moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Walker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lytle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Walker has managed to get both his arms back between Lytle's legs - danger averted. Walker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lytle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker wants to control from the top but Lytle keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Walker's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Lytle looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Walker trying to control the position from guard on top but Lytle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lytle keeping moving, preventing Walker from controlling successfully. Walker slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Walker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lytle some visible discomfort.
You can see the frustration on Lytle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walker works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lytle takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lytle keeps working. Walker in side control lands a decent elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walker working the head with strikes. Walker tries to move to mount but Lytle blocks the move with his legs. Lytle is letting Walker control him for a moment. Walker is working Lytle over with some ground and pound from side control. Walker scoring with punches and elbows.
Lytle is rocked! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Walker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Oh Lytle is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Lytle is looking for a sweep. Walker working the head and body with strikes. A big shot lands for Walker! That's hurt Lytle! Will he recover? Walker fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deon Walker!
