Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between mr gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Cobsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, mr gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Cobsen!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gold showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cobsen.
Cobsen tries to close the distance and clinch but gold swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Some bone on bone action there as Cobsen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Cobsen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Cobsen wants to clinch.

Cobsen gets underhooks to prevent gold's takedown attempt.
gold goes for a takedown in the clinch but Cobsen prevents it.
Cobsen lands a nice knee to the body.
gold is working for takedown but Cobsen is calmly controlling the position for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cobsen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning gold up against the cage.

gold ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. gold no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

gold manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

gold tries to control but Cobsen wriggling away.
gold prevents Cobsen from getting the reversal.

Cobsen is in a horrible position here. gold smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

gold with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
gold throwing strikes here but Cobsen is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Cobsen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
gold sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
gold avoids the attempt from Cobsen to control.
gold fails to take his opponent's back.
The referee warns Cobsen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

gold swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cobsen is now in gold's guard. A big mistake from gold there, giving up the dominant position!
gold has control of Cobsen's left arm, preventing Cobsen from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Cobsen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Cobsen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with gold, pushing him back against the cage.
gold goes for a takedown in the clinch but Cobsen prevents it.

gold has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cobsen regains guard immediately.
Cobsen is looking to stand up but gold isn't so interested in that idea.
gold slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
gold looking to pass the guard.

gold has gone for a leg lock! Cobsen slips out almost immediately though and dives into gold's guard.

gold wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Cobsen is now in half guard.
gold wants to control but Cobsen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
gold manages to get to full guard.
Cobsen wants to control from the top but gold keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cobsen postures up.
gold is pulling down on Cobsen's head. It's preventing any offense from Cobsen, at least for the moment.
gold looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
gold shoots in but no luck this time.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
gold closes the distance and clinches up with Cobsen, looking for a takedown. gold pushes Cobsen against the cage but Cobsen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for mr gold. That's going to take a lot out of him.

gold has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cobsen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

gold has Cobsen pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. gold pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cobsen tumbling to the mat - gold dives into Cobsen's guard.
gold is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
gold postures up.
gold looking to pass the guard.
gold wants to control from the top but Cobsen keeps moving.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to mr gold.
I think Cobsen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
