Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Madness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Lok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madness comes into the arena with SHOWDOWN blaring out of the sound system. Lok is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by pepper. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Madness! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Lok! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madness ducks under a wild hook from Lok. Madness really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Madness fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lok misses with an uppercut. Madness shoots in for a takedown but Lok shows good takedown defense. Madness defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lok. Lok looks to score with a jab to the body but Madness is just out of range. Lok throws an overhand right that lands on Madness's shoulder, as Madness tries to avoid the shot. Lok stuffs the takedown attempt from Madness. Madness gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Madness. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lok loads up on a big right hand but Madness slips the punch. Lok closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Madness to the mat! Madness manages to get full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lok is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Madness is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lok is aware though and is defending well. Madness throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lok escapes and throws Madness's legs to the side, diving into side control! Lok working the ground and pound. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Madness taking a bit of punishment here - Lok scoring with strikes. Lok lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lok cracks Madness with a big right hand but Madness just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lok in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Madness is not content to let Lok control the position. Madness is trying to control Lok's posture but Lok avoids it. A lull in the action here. Lok is looking to take a break and control but Madness is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Madness is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lok is staying tight to Madness's torso, preventing him from escaping. Madness is looking to regain half guard here but Lok keeps moving and retains side control. Lok trying to control the position but Madness is working away. Madness is looking for a sweep. Lok works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Lok wants to control but Madness is keeping him busy. Lok lands a nice forearm strike.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lok trying to control the action but Madness is working from the bottom. Madness is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lok is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Madness is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lok's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lok's back! Lok is trying to get back to his feet but Madness has full control of the position and if anything, Lok has just worked his way into a worse spot. Madness is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Lok knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Lok for a finish. Madness looking for the RNC. Madness is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Lok is defending well though. Madness let's go of the attempt for now.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Lok turns into Madness and is now in his guard.
Lok postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Madness keeping moving, preventing Lok from controlling successfully. Lok scoring with some ground and pound. Lok content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Lok stopping the sweep attempt from Madness. Lok looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Madness looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Lok trying to control but Madness is working from the bottom. Madness can't keep his opponent in guard - Lok advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Lok keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice strikes from Lok there. Lok landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Madness wants to improve his position but Lok is controlling well.

Lok is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Madness is just riding it out for now. Lok eventually gives up the hold. Madness tries to get to full guard but Lok has control of the leg.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Madness manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Madness avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lok trying to control the position from guard on top but Madness is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Madness working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lok doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Madness is tightening it up a little... Lok has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lok reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lok taps out! Nice BJJ there by Madness!
