1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Powell ! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! America fails to land the takedown. America fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Powell misses with a series of wild punches.
America dives in and grabs Powell 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Powell pushes down on America 's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Captain America . That's going to take a lot out of him. Powell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says America as he avoids it easily. America looking to score a takedown here. Powell is defending well but America drives through and ends up in Powell 's guard. America thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Powell controlling America 's posture. Powell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with America . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Powell is working an open guard so America takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Powell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. America looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! America decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. America closes this distance looking for a takedown but Powell circles away. America shoots in looking for a takedown but Powell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing America 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. America closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. America is looking for a kimura but Powell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for America to get the leverage. America seems to be looking for submissions.
America stands up out of the half guard. Powell fails with a takedown attempt. America gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Powell counters by moving into the clinch. Powell successfully pulls guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! America gets to his feet - Powell follows without any prompting. America misses with a takedown attempt and Powell counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Powell gets underhooks to prevent America 's takedown attempt.

America has Powell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Powell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Powell prevents a takedown attempt there.
Powell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Powell takes the fight into the clinch. Powell gets a trip takedown into half guard. Powell looks winded! America looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. America works his way to full guard. Good work. America looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Powell is defending well. America quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Powell has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! America celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
