Warburton's entrance music is Wretch 32 ft Delilah_ Don`t Be Afraid. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Stanfield's choice of entrance music: Call To Greatness. Curt Warburton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Curt Warburton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marlo Stanfield!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanfield throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Stanfield goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Curt Warburton has been cut.

Warburton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stanfield sprawls well initially but Warburton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Warburton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stanfield has managed to free his arm - good work.
Warburton sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stanfield defending well though.
Warburton throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Stanfield avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Warburton.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Warburton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stanfield's head.
Stanfield on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Warburton is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Warburton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Warburton lands strikes from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Warburton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Warburton is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Stanfield trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Warburton manages to pass to mount!
Stanfield avoids a series of strikes thrown by Warburton.
Warburton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Warburton lands a big shot there that rocks Stanfield but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Warburton misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Warburton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stanfield is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Warburton throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Stanfield is working to get back to half guard.
Warburton scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Stanfield?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Warburton throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Stanfield because Warburton loaded up on that one.
Stanfield tries to reverse the position but Warburton maintains control.
Stanfield sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Warburton has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Stanfield defend it? Warburton steps over the head and cranks it - Stanfield is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Warburton!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Curt Warburton!
