The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muromets circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pearse forces Muromets back against the cage and clinches.
Pearse stops a takedown attempt from Muromets.

Muromets breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Muromets tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pearse was well out of range. Poor timing from Muromets.
Muromets throws the left hand but Pearse avoids the punch easily.

Pearse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Muromets swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pearse throws a right hand that Muromets ducks under and follows up with a left that Muromets also avoids with ease.

Pearse stuffs the takedown attempt from Muromets. Muromets gets slowly back to his feet.
Pearse throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Muromets takes a swing at Pearse's ribcage but misses.
Pearse connects with an inside leg kick.
A jab from Pearse finds it's way through Muromets's defenses.
Pearse misses with a double jab.
Muromets drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like ILja Muromets has been cut.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pearse.
Muromets throws a jab but it's blocked by Pearse.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pearse throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Muromets counter with a right hand.
Muromets connects with a nice looking jab.
Pearse feints with a jab and clips Muromets right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Muromets is sent crashing into the canvas and Pearse leaps in for the kill! Muromets tries to get to his feet but Pearse is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Muromets is in need of a savior and steps in!
