Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Wabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ McGobblecock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Wabbit! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BJ McGobblecock! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGobblecock swings widly with a right hand
and Wabbit counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for McGobblecock! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Sloppy strikes there by Wabbit. McGobblecock is not content to let Wabbit control the position. Wabbit misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
McGobblecock is looking to reverse the position. Wabbit landing a few strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGobblecock can do anything to dispel that myth. Wabbit is looking to take a break and control but McGobblecock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wabbit lands a nice forearm strike.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McGobblecock is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wabbit has just dragged him back down to the mat. Wabbit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wabbit working away. Wabbit just content to control the position. McGobblecock is holding Wabbit down, trying to stall. An elbow from Wabbit crashes against the mat.

Wabbit lands a decent elbow from side control. McGobblecock is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wabbit off and has taken his back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGobblecock throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Roger Wabbit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wabbit covering up well under a series of strikes from McGobblecock. Wabbit tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! BOOM! McGobblecock connects with a massive shot to the dome!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wabbit is working hard here to advance position. McGobblecock lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Wabbit hang on? McGobblecock throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. McGobblecock dominating with strikes here. McGobblecock lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Wabbit gets back to half guard. Wabbit is in trouble now - McGobblecock has advanced to mount! Wabbit sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. McGobblecock thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wabbit's head. Wabbit wants to control but McGobblecock is keeping busy and won't allow it.

McGobblecock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wabbit circles away quickly and effectively. McGobblecock throws out a powerful jab. McGobblecock moves into range and connects with a jab. Wabbit misses with a double jab
and McGobblecock counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wabbit missing with a left hand there. McGobblecock was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. McGobblecock showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wabbit.

McGobblecock throws a series of punches but Wabbit avoids them all with ease. Wabbit misses with a straight left.

Wabbit throws a strike but McGobblecock rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Wabbit manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McGobblecock manages to get himself to full guard.

McGobblecock shoots in and gets a takedown into Wabbit's guard. McGobblecock seems to have recovered his senses. Wabbit wants to stand and escape but McGobblecock is having none of it.
