Hero comes to the cage accompanied by No shelter - Rage against the machine. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christopher Hero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vitaliy Yakimenko! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yakimenko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yakimenko lands with a slapping head kick. Yakimenko keeps the fight on the outside. Hero gets in close and instigates a clinch. Yakimenko tries to break free but Hero pushes him back against the cage. Hero is stalling here.
Yakimenko breaks the clinch.
Yakimenko wants to clinch up but Hero keeps it at a distance. A head kick misses from Yakimenko. Hero looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hero prevents Yakimenko from getting back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hero content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. This has been an exciting period of action! Hero showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Hero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hero thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hero won't allow Yakimenko to get back to his feet. Hero postures up and lands a big shot to Yakimenko's brow. Hero stands and throws Yakimenko's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hero has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Yakimenko is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hero yanks on the arm and Yakimenko is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hero.
