Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rico Verhoeven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mixalis Pavlis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rico Verhoeven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mixalis Pavlis!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pavlis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Verhoeven, pushing him back against the cage.
Pavlis pulls guard.
Pavlis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pavlis tries to strike from the bottom.
Pavlis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Verhoeven has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pavlis has his feet on Verhoeven's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Pavlis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pavlis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Verhoeven misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pavlis scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Rico Verhoeven's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Verhoeven gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pavlis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pavlis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pavlis stays in close to Verhoeven's body and controls the position.
Pavlis stands up and waves to Verhoeven to follow him.
Verhoeven is breathing heavily.
Verhoeven showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pavlis.
Verhoeven swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pavlis gets a clinch.
Verhoeven tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A frustrated look appears on Verhoeven's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A body shot lands from Pavlis.
Pavlis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pavlis gets a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pavlis controlling the pace.
Pavlis decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
