And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shank Flabbott!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flabbott cracks Christianson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Flabbott drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Christianson struggling a bit here.

Flabbott is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Christianson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Christianson is trying to get back to half guard.
Flabbott tries to move into full mount but can't pass Christianson's legs.
Flabbott is looking to take a break and control but Christianson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Christianson is looking for a sweep.
Christianson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Flabbott.

Flabbott looking to control but instead Christianson has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Flabbott thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Christianson's head.

Flabbott is nestled in close to Christianson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Christianson has one foot on Flabbott's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Flabbott scores with a crisp jab that stopped Christianson in his tracks.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flabbott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Christianson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shank Flabbott dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Christianson is looking to regain half guard here but Flabbott keeps moving and retains side control.
Flabbott creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Christianson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Flabbott throwing strikes but Christianson manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Flabbott tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Christianson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Flabbott is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Flabbott bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Flabbott wants to pass the guard but Christianson is keeping the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Flabbott decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Christianson's guard.

Christianson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Flabbott keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Christianson's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Flabbott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Christianson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Flabbott.
Flabbott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Christianson moves away.

Flabbott takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Christianson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

so Flabbott counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Blaze Christianson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Christianson controls Flabbott momentarily but Flabbott frees himself.
Flabbott controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Flabbott passes Christianson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Christianson is looking to control Flabbott's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Christianson avoid being mounted?

Flabbott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Christianson is trying to maintain the position but Flabbott is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Flabbott wants to pass the guard but Christianson is defending well.

Flabbott is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Christianson is just riding it out for now. Flabbott eventually gives up the hold.

Christianson throws a hook to the side of Flabbott's head but Flabbott sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Christianson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Christianson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Shank Flabbott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Flabbott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
