Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nakai might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Love Parade. Piper has chosen Real Men Wear Skirts as his entrance music. Yuki Nakai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yuki Nakai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
37 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Roddy Piper! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Piper swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nakai on the wrong end of a nice hook. Nakai gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Piper counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Piper. A short left from Piper. Piper lands with a left to the head. Nakai struggles to land a body shot inside as Piper controls his hands.
Nakai misses with a hook to the ribs.
Piper lands a shot to the body. Nakai is trying to stall.
Nakai is looking for a takedown. Nakai blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Piper prevents a body shot from Nakai. Piper misses with a punch on the inside.

Piper swings wildly with an uppercut but Nakai uses good head movement to avoid it. Nakai goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Piper. Piper scores with a shot to the side of Nakai's head. Nakai stalls. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nakai struggles to land a body shot inside as Piper controls his hands.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A short right from Piper on the inside. Nakai has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Piper after a bit of a struggle. A quick uppercut on the inside from Piper. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nakai is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Piper is keeping busy. Piper lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Nakai blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Nakai throws a head punch that misses. Piper lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nakai blocking some punches.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roddy Piper dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nakai wants to clinch up but Piper keeps it at a distance. Nakai wants to clinch. Nakai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Piper moves away. Piper with a hook. Nakai closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Piper quickly recovers to half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Piper is trying to get back to full guard. Nakai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Piper does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Piper trying to control from the bottom.
Piper is refusing to be controlled, as Nakai sits in half guard. Piper is looking for a sweep. Nakai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nakai is working for a kimura but Piper is defending it quite comfortably.

That's one minute gone in the round. Piper keeping hold of Nakai's head, controlling as best he can. Piper tries to get to full guard but Nakai has control of the leg. Piper trying to hold on to Nakai's head to control him but Nakai postures up.
Piper might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nakai haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Roddy Piper was stalling too much, according to the referee. Nakai attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Nakai on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Nakai shoots in and bounces Piper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Piper has Nakai pulled in close to control his posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Piper is trying to hold Nakai in close to prevent damage but Nakai has managed to pass into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nakai trying to mount his opponent but Piper defends it. Piper keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Nakai trying to control from half guard but Piper is working away. Roddy Piper has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Piper looks for the body kick but Nakai saw that one coming. Piper connects with a looping right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piper clobbers Nakai with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Piper scores with a body shot.

Nice body kick there by Piper. Nakai fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Piper has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Roddy Piper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nakai fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Piper checks it well. Piper scores with a jab. Nakai acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Piper fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nakai has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nakai works Piper's body with a nice hook. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Piper is trying is best to control the position here. Nakai wants to lay and pray for a moment but Piper keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Piper pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nakai throws a wild body kick that Piper sees coming a mile off. Piper throws a body punch but Nakai moves out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nakai shoots in looking for a takedown but Piper manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nakai's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Piper cracks the inside of Nakai's front leg. Nakai tries to clinch there but Piper circles away.

Roddy Piper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Piper connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Piper gets caught flat footed, as Nakai shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Nakai controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Piper seems keen to control Nakai's posture. Piper wants to sweep but no luck. Nakai looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Nakai tries to free his leg and advance position but Piper is retaining full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nakai tried to score with a low kick but Piper checks it. Yuki Nakai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Nakai is predictable there and Piper counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Nakai has picked Piper up - he's going for a ride! Nakai dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Piper trying to control from the bottom.
Piper is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nakai is staying active. Piper controlling the position for now. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

This has been an exciting period of action! Nakai shoots in for a takedown but Piper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Piper scores with a spinning back kick!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakai shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Nakai blocks the body kick.
Nakai slips a straight right by Piper. Nakai takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nakai thows a leg kick but Piper checks it and Piper counters with a nice uppercut. Piper wants to clinch up but Nakai keeps it at a distance. Nakai tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Piper was well out of range. Poor timing from Nakai. Piper scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Nakai is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nakai doesn't manage to clinch there - Piper circles away.
Nakai pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Piper tries a head kick but it misses.
Nakai throws a leg kick that misses. Nakai throws a lazy head kick and Piper counters with a low kick, right behind Nakai 's knee. Nakai changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Piper looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Yuki Nakai has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piper is trying to control Nakai's posture but Nakai avoids it. Nakai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Piper knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Piper wants to control but Nakai postures up. Piper manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Piper is looking for a sweep. Nakai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Piper is trying to stand.
Piper is controlling Nakai's position as best he can from this difficult position. Nakai wants to pass the guard but Piper is defending well. Piper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Yuki Nakai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Piper is not content to let Nakai control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Piper thows a body shot but no joy. Nakai gets a clinch. Piper can't find room to land a body shot as Nakai controls the action.

Piper throws a punch but it's blocked by Nakai. Roddy Piper seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nakai tries to work over Piper's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Roddy Piper. I've got Piper winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
