Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Miyagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Long Dong Sukk!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyagi gets the takedown into side control.
Miyagi throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Miyagi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Miyagi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Miyagi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sukk wants to control but Miyagi postures up.
Miyagi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Sukk is trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sukk is trying to control Miyagi's posture but Miyagi avoids it.
Sukk is trying to escape the position but Miyagi is controlling the position.
Sukk prevents Miyagi from improving position.
An elbow from Miyagi crashes against the mat.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Miyagi is looking to take a break and control but Sukk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Miyagi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sukk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Miyagi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sukk gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Miyagi working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Sukk turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Miyagi off and cradles Sukk's limp body as Miyagi celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Hiro Miyagi!
