Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Yee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Del Mar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Yee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Yee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fabio Del Mar!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yee moves into range and connects with a jab.
Del Mar dives in and grabs Yee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yee pushes down on Del Mar's head and hops out.
Del Mar throws a predictable looking body shot
and Yee counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Del Mar throws a sloppy head kick and Yee moves out of range easily.
Del Mar moves away from the strike by Yee.
Yee wants to clinch but Del Mar slips to the side
and Del Mar counters with a leg kick.
A punch combination from Yee misses.
Yee misses with a double jab.
Del Mar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Yee lands a nice looking body shot.
Del Mar tried to score with a low kick but Yee checks it.
Yee avoids the head kick by Del Mar.
Fabio Del Mar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Del Mar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Yee momentarily.
Yee throws a shot from downtown. Del Mar moves away and avoids it.

Yee lands a jab-cross combination.
Del Mar explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Yee blocks a head kick by Del Mar.
Del Mar misses with a low kick as Yee jumps back.

Del Mar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yee was covering up waiting for the punch and Del Mar finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Del Mar pushes down on Yee's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Del Mar seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yee controlling the position well.

Yee regains full guard. Nicely done.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yee is on top in guard.
Yee wants to control from the top but Del Mar keeps moving.
Yee is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Del Mar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Del Mar looking for a sweep. Not yet Del Mar, not yet.
Del Mar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Del Mar controls Yee momentarily but Yee frees himself.

Yee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Del Mar wants to sweep here but Yee controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Del Mar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yee defends it easily.

Del Mar is trying to control the position but Yee postures up.

Yee looking to sit in guard and control but Del Mar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Yee is controlling Del Mar's posture.
Del Mar trying to control the position from guard on top but Yee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yee manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Yee content just to control the position here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Yee will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Yee slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Del Mar connects with a solid leg kick.
Del Mar wants to slow Yee down by chopping away at his legs.
Yee takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Del Mar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Yee on his heels. He'll look to pass Yee's guard now, I'm sure.

Del Mar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Del Mar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Del Mar wants to control from the top but Yee keeps moving.
Yee trying to keep a closed guard but Del Mar is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Del Mar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Del Mar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Yee controls Del Mar momentarily but Del Mar frees himself.
Del Mar wants to pass the guard but Yee is keeping the position.
Del Mar is fighting to break Yee's control of his arms but Yee is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jason Yee.
Yee looks to score with a jab to the body but Del Mar is just out of range.
Del Mar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Del Mar somewhat.

Yee scores with a punch to the head.
A head kick from Del Mar lands but Yee takes it in his stride.
Yee avoids the head kick by Del Mar.
Yee looks to throw the jab but Del Mar is out of range.
Yee smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Jason Yee is winning the standup battle so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Del Mar tries a head kick but it misses.
Sloppy strikes from Yee. Those never looked like landing.
Yee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Yee tries to clinch but Del Mar moves out of range.
Yee thuds his right hand into Del Mar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Yee clinches up with Del Mar and pushes him back against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Yee.
Del Mar unloads a knee to the mid-section. Yee lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Yee throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Del Mar missing with knees to the body.
Yee misses with an elbow strike.
Yee gets through Del Mar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Del Mar takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Del Mar tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Del Mar avoids the elbow strike from Yee, against the cage.
Yee lands an elbow that stopped Del Mar in his tracks for a moment.
Yee lands a right hand that snaps the head of Del Mar backwards.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Del Mar throws a knee to the head but misses.
Del Mar misses with a knee to the head.
Yee throws an elbow that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yee creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Come on Del Mar - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Del Mar with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Yee lands a shoulder strike.
Yee throws an elbow but it misses.
Yee misses with an elbow strike.
Del Mar is looking for a takedown.
Jason Yee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabio Del Mar.
Yee lands a nice elbow.
Yee looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Yee lands a shoulder strike.
Yee gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Yee has Del Mar pressed against the cage. He pushes Del Mar back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Yee throws a beautiful elbow that sends Del Mar crashing to the floor! Yee piles on the pressure with more strikes! Del Mar is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Yee!
