Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Franko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorden Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis has chosen M.E.T.H.O.D. Man as his entrance music. Paul Franko had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Jorden Ellis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Paul Franko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Franko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorden Ellis! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis throws and low kick but Franko moves out of range easily. A clash of legs there as Franko blocks the low kick. Franko tries to clinch up but Ellis circles away and keeps his distance. Franko shoots in and bounces Ellis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Ellis wants to sweep but no luck. Ellis trying to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ellis tries to clinch but Franko moves away and Franko counters with a shoot takedown. Ellis fights it but they end up in guard. Ellis pulls Franko in close to prevent any damage. Franko stands up and waves to Ellis to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Franko's head. Ellis misses with a body kick. Ellis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Franko is out of range. Ellis has his takedown stuffed and Franko counters with a takedown into side control. Ellis tries to escape but Franko is in control. Ellis looks gassed! Franko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Franko trying to control the position but Ellis is working away. Ellis is looking for a sweep. Ellis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Franko asserts his dominance and retains side control. Ellis is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ellis manages to work his way to half guard, despite Franko's best efforts. Ellis gets back to full guard.
Franko tries to free his leg and advance position but Ellis is retaining full guard. Franko wants to control from the top but Ellis keeps moving. Franko slips nicely into half guard. Franko seems to be looking for submissions.
Ellis tries to roll over but Franko keeps him under control. Franko wants to pass the guard but Ellis is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis regains full guard. Nicely done. Ellis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Franko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Franko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ellis looking to control.
Ellis keeping full guard, as Franko tries to pass. Ellis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Franko's guard. Ellis passes into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ellis connects with a nice short shot to Franko's temple. Ellis working over Franko with some ground and pound. Franko looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ellis is looking for a kimura but Franko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ellis to get the leverage. Ellis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Franko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ellis working the head and body with strikes. Ellis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ellis is looking to take a break and control but Franko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ellis wants to stand but Franko has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Franko moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Franko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ellis slips nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franko actively working from the bottom here. Ellis throwing shots but Franko is blocking nicely. Franko makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Franko. Franko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ellis wants to control from the top but Franko keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Franko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ellis manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ellis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Franko is fending him off so far but Ellis persists. Nope, Franko circles away and we're back to standing. Paul Franko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorden Ellis. Ellis wants to clinch and Franko counters with a nice double leg into guard. Franko stands up from Ellis's guard - Franko perhaps looking for a knockout. Franko drives through with a takedown into guard. Ellis looking to control.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ellis holds on and takes a little breather. Franko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Franko is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ellis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Franko's back instead. Franko turns into Ellis and is now in his guard.

Franko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ellis dives on top into guard. Franko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ellis is one step ahead there. Ellis cracks Franko with a solid left hand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ellis tries to free his leg and advance position but Franko is retaining full guard. Ellis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Franko works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Franko has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ellis doesn't defend quickly enough and Franko has managed to lock this one up! Can Ellis escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Franko on a fantastic submission victory.
