Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fernandes Cardoso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Gerano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerano has chosen Ladies and Gentlemen by Saliva as his entrance music. Cardoso is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Fernandes Cardoso has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerano darts in and clinches Cardoso up against the cage.
Cardoso is breathing heavily.
Gerano makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Gerano lands an elbow inside that Cardoso shrugs off.
It looks like Fernandes Cardoso has been cut.
Gerano throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Gerano gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Gerano lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cardoso is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gerano scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gerano drops an elbow to the side of Cardoso's head.

Gerano is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gerano connects with a nice short shot to Cardoso's temple.
Gerano lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cardoso trying to hold on to Gerano's head to control him but Gerano postures up.
Gerano landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Cardoso is rocked!
Gerano slips a nice elbow through Cardoso's hands, connecting with Cardoso's forehead.
Oh Cardoso is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gerano wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gerano lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Cardoso is looking to escape.
Gerano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cardoso. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cardoso is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gerano scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gerano lands strikes from half guard.
Gerano wants to stand up but Cardoso has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Gerano is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Cardoso is hurt! He's hurt bad - Gerano fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Cardoso from any more punishment! Congratulations to Gerano! Great finish!
