Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hecker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlton Jizm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlton Jizm told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Hecker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlton Jizm! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hecker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jizm napping and manages to drive through into side control! A lull in the action here as Hecker stalls from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hecker working the ground and pound. Hecker in side control, just content to control the action for now. Hecker working the ground and pound. Hecker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jizm trying to remain calm as Hecker controls from the top position. Hecker throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jizm tries to improve position but can't. Jizm takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hecker is staying tight to Jizm's torso, preventing him from escaping. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jizm dodges the ground and pound from Hecker. Hecker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hecker misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Jizm avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hecker. Hecker working away. Hecker lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jizm down.
Hecker takes a little break here. Jizm wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Hecker cracks Jizm with a big right hand but Jizm just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hecker working the ground and pound but Jizm is defending the strikes. The referee asks Hecker politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hecker prefers to stall for the moment though. Jizm defending against the ground and pound. Jizm is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hecker connects with a decent elbow. Hecker in side control lands a decent elbow. Hecker working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Hecker fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hecker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hecker decides to stand back up. Hecker steps back and let's Jizm get back to his feet. Hecker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jizm looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hecker lands some shots froms side control. Hecker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jizm, who protects the arm well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jizm defending against the ground and pound. Hecker moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Hecker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Hecker cracks Jizm with a big elbow. Jizm is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Hecker. Hecker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jizm is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hecker lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Hecker tries to score with some ground and pound. Jizm controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Hecker misses with the ground and pound. Hecker happy to just control the position for now. Jizm takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hecker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jizm takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hecker tries to score with some ground and pound. Jizm controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. This has been an exciting period of action! Hecker scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jizm to see if he's OK. Jizm tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hecker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hecker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Hecker slows the pace down. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Hecker dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

Hecker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jizm can do to turn this around? Jizm has his takedown stuffed and Hecker counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hecker changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jizm fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hecker looking to score a takedown here. Jizm is defending well but Hecker drives through and ends up in Jizm's guard. Hecker controls from within his opponent's guard. Hecker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jizm for as long as he can get away with. Jizm is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hecker throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hecker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jeff Hecker. Hecker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jizm was covering up waiting for the punch and Hecker finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hecker sitting in guard here, content to control. Hecker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hecker's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hecker controlling from the top position. Hecker scoring with some ground and pound. Hecker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jizm utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hecker is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hecker in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hecker advances to half guard. Hecker stalling. Hecker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hecker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Jeff Hecker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hecker. Hecker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Hecker throwing strikes but Jizm manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Hecker explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Jizm throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hecker's waist but Hecker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jizm off to one side. Hecker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jizm quickly recovers to half guard. Hecker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jizm's head. Jizm wants to control but Hecker is keeping busy.

We're going to have a standup here because Jeff Hecker wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Hecker fails to land with a series of punches.
Hecker shoots in and bounces Jizm off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hecker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hecker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Jizm takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hecker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hecker works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Hecker swings around for an armbar but Jizm sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hecker's guard. Jizm has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hecker is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hecker has control of Jizm's left arm, preventing Jizm from doing any damage. Hecker kicks Jizm off and gets to his feet. Hecker scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hecker working the ground and pound from side control. Jizm on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Hecker is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Jizm is trying to escape and Hecker transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Jizm is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hecker! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jeff Hecker! Jeff Hecker was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
