Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harry Buston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Nettles! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Buston. Nettles connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Buston misses with a takedown attempt - Nettles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Buston throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Buston doesn't manage to clinch there - Nettles circles away.
Nettles rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Buston moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Buston will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nettles stuffs the takedown attempt from Buston. Buston gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Buston. That's going to take a lot out of him. A combination from Nettles does no damage. Harry Buston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Buston is looking to clinch but Nettles is avoiding it.
Buston wants to clinch. Nettles gets caught napping as Buston dives in and scores a takedown. Nettles manages to retain guard.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Nettles wants to stand up but Buston is controlling him. Buston scoring with some ground and pound. Nettles wants to stand and escape but Buston is having none of it. Buston stays in close to Nettles's body and controls the position.

Buston lands with a punch from half guard. Buston keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Buston is working for a submission of some sort.
Buston thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nettles's head. Buston controlling the action here. Nettles is trying to stand back up but Buston is controlling him
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buston looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Buston lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Buston sitting and controlling from the half guard. Nettles pushes Buston off looking to stand but Buston dives back in and keeps control.
Buston seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nettles can do anything to dispel that myth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Harry Buston just wasn't active enough. Buston tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nettles moves into the clinch. Buston drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Buston is working for takedown but Nettles is calmly controlling the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harry Buston dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nettles throws a leg kick that misses. Buston is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nettles sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nettles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Buston circles away quickly and effectively. Buston gets a clinch. Nettles tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Buston jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nettles walks away with a smile on his face. Buston gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Buston tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nettles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Buston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nettles misses with a low kick. Nice sprawl there from Nettles as Buston shoots in. Buston darts in trying to clinch and Nettles counters with a one-two to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nettles attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Nettles connects with a looping right hand.
Nettles cracks Buston with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nettles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Buston circles away quickly and effectively. Chris Nettles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Nettles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Buston, pushing him back against the cage. Buston lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Buston slows the pace down in half guard. Nettles wants to get back to his feet. Buston with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Nettles looks like he's trying to stand up.
Buston content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Buston connects with a nice short shot to Nettles's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nettles taking some punishment here, with Buston in his half guard. Buston prevents Nettles from standing back up.
Nettles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Buston with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Buston working Nettles over with strikes. Buston looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Buston content to control rather than advance. Buston looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nettles with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Buston seems to be working for a kimura but Nettles defends the submission attempt. Buston passes to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nettles is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Buston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nettles keeps working. Buston just content to control the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nettles is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Buston asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buston working the ground and pound. Nettles pushes Buston away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Buston gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Nettles takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Buston wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nettles, who protects the arm well. Nettles wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Buston staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buston has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Buston working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Nettles wants to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Buston cracks Nettles with a big elbow. Nettles is being controlled here.
And that's the end of the fight! Harry Buston showed his dominance in that final round. I think Buston has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
