Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Stinker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luis Mexias!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mexias fails with the takedown
and Stinker counters with a series of strikes. Mexias will be more careful next time no doubt.
Mexias misses with a takedown
and Stinker counters with a left and a right that stings Mexias.
Mexias shoots in for a double leg but Stinker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sam Stinker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Mexias.
Mexias wants to clinch.

Mexias rushes Stinker and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mexias lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Stinker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mexias.
Stinker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mexias jumps into guard, dragging Stinker to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stinker cracks Mexias with a solid left hand.

Stinker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mexias is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mexias has escaped and now he's on top!
Mexias must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mexias is posturing up here but Stinker has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Mexias tries to roll out but it's too tight and Mexias has to tap! Slick submission there by Stinker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sam Stinker!
