PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between King Destroyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Redfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Destroyer comes to the cage accompanied by Eminem - Kill You. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Destroyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Redfield!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redfield closes the distance looking to clinch
and Destroyer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Redfield's guard.
Destroyer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Redfield dives on top into guard.
Destroyer has his foot on Redfield's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redfield works his way back into a safe position though.
Destroyer working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Redfield has passed into half guard!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Redfield prevents Destroyer from improving his position.
Redfield stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Destroyer to get to his feet.
Redfield is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Redfield wants to clinch but Destroyer slips to the side
and Destroyer counters with a takedown into side control.
Destroyer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Redfield knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Redfield's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Destroyer tries for a kimura but Redfield is defending well.
Redfield is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Destroyer is controlling him well.
Destroyer has hold of Redfield's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Redfield tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Destroyer cranks the arm and Redfield screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Redfield, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). King Destroyer!
In his post fight interview, King Destroyer gave a big smile as he said 'DESTROY!'.
