Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Latajaca Omoplata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Sappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Omoplata might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ona Tańczy Dla Mnie - Weekend. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Sappe!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sappe throws a right hand that Omoplata ducks under and follows up with a left that Omoplata also avoids with ease.
Omoplata looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sappe goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Sappe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Omoplata napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sappe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sappe wants to stand but Omoplata has his arm trapped.
Omoplata is trying to control Sappe's posture but Sappe avoids it.
Omoplata manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Omoplata seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sappe wants to improve his position but Omoplata is controlling well.

Omoplata is looking to take a break and control but Sappe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sappe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Omoplata's head.
Omoplata seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Sappe wants to control from the top but Omoplata keeps moving.

Bob Sappe has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Sappe avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sappe throws a big shot that misses.

Sappe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Omoplata tries to clinch but Sappe moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Omoplata is defended easily by Sappe.

Sappe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Omoplata was well out of range. Poor timing from Sappe.
Omoplata tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sappe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Omoplata somewhat.

Sappe misses with a leg kick.
Omoplata throws a nice looking combination but Sappe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sappe throws a sloppy head kick and Omoplata moves out of range easily.
Omoplata fails with a takedown attempt.

Sappe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sappe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Omoplata does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sappe gets control of Omoplata's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sappe will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sappe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sappe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Omoplata. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Omoplata wants to get up but he can't break Sappe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sappe is striking but Omoplata is not phased and passes to half guard.
Omoplata seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sappe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Still in half guard, Omoplata seems content to control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sappe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Omoplata sprawls well initially but Sappe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sappe is looking to advance position but Omoplata won't allow it.
Sappe has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Omoplata works to full guard.
Omoplata manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Sappe wants to control but Omoplata is having none of it.
Omoplata throwing strikes here but Sappe is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Sappe is desperately trying to improve his position but Omoplata has a good base and remains in mount.
Omoplata can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sappe is looking to escape.
Sappe blocking the ground and pound.
Sappe tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Omoplata tries to control but Sappe wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Omoplata prevents Sappe from getting the reversal.

Sappe is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Sappe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sappe regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Omoplata in particular looking to stall.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sappe desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Latajaca Omoplata has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Omoplata will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Omoplata has a takedown stuffed.

Omoplata blocks a jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Omoplata.
Omoplata closes the distance and clinches up with Sappe, looking for a takedown. Omoplata pushes Sappe against the cage but Sappe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Omoplata shoots in for a takedown but Sappe shows good takedown defense.

Omoplata tries to pull guard but Sappe won't allow it.

Sappe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sappe manages to end up in side control.
Omoplata is trying to control Sappe's posture but Sappe avoids it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Omoplata is not content to let Sappe control the position.
Latajaca Omoplata has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bob Sappe is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Omoplata manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Bob Sappe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sappe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
