Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian King has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Yamamoto! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Yamamoto. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. King tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yamamoto wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Yamamoto wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by King, who protects the arm well. King is looking to regain half guard here but Yamamoto keeps moving and retains side control. King wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. King tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Yamamoto is chipping away with strikes.
King gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yamamoto seems to be looking for submissions.
King is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yamamoto is looking for a kimura but King is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yamamoto to get the leverage. King punching from the bottom.
Yamamoto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so King is just riding it out for now. Yamamoto eventually gives up the hold. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! King missing with punches from the bottom.

King kicks Yamamoto off and gets back to his feet. Yamamoto shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Yamamoto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. King fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Yamamoto, pushing him back against the cage. Yamamoto can't get the takedown.

Brian King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akira Yamamoto. Yamamoto looks winded! Yamamoto has King pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. King manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. King breaks from the clinch.

and Yamamoto counters with a nice double leg into side control. King won't be happy with that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! King really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. King punching from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yamamoto connects with a nice short shot to King's temple. Yamamoto blocks the strikes from King.

That's four minutes gone in the round. King manages to escape and get back to his feet! Yamamoto tries to keep at a distance but King has taken the fight into the clinch. Yamamoto goes for a takedown in the clinch but King prevents it.
This has been an exciting period of action! King has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Yamamoto tries to score a body lock takedown but King shows good agility there to stay on his feet. King breaks from the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
King lands with a nice combination. Yamamoto backs away looking to recover. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian King dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

King leaves Yamamoto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Yamamoto fails with a takedown attempt. Brian King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akira Yamamoto. King tries to clinch and Yamamoto counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. King gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Yamamoto counters with a left to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. King closes the distance and clinches.

Yamamoto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. King did well to prevent Yamamoto getting side control. This has been an exciting period of action! King landing a few short strikes. Yamamoto is pressing down on King's thigh, looking to free his foot. King is holding on for now. Yamamoto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! King keeping moving, preventing Yamamoto from controlling successfully. King pushes Yamamoto off and gets back to his feet.

Yamamoto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side. King looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Yamamoto!
That's four minutes gone in the round. King decides to stand up, so the ref orders Yamamoto to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet. Yamamoto takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Yamamoto fails miserably with a takedown attempt. King changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yamamoto tries to avoid it but King manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yamamoto to the ground. Yamamoto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Yamamoto stuffs the takedown. No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yamamoto fails with a takedown attempt from distance. King moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. No luck for Yamamoto with that takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King throws a right and a left that both miss. King scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Yamamoto is trying to maintain the position but King is very close to passing his half guard. King stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Yamamoto to get to his feet. King rushes Yamamoto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Yamamoto keeps the fight in the clinch, despite King's efforts to push away. Yamamoto shoots in and bounces King off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! King tries to strike from the bottom.
King wants to stand up but Yamamoto is controlling him. Yamamoto wants to control from the top but King keeps moving. Yamamoto stops King from standing up. King throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yamamoto is controlling him. Yamamoto trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. King gets a double leg takedown into Yamamoto's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! King gets to his feet. Yamamoto looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! King shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yamamoto pinned against the cage. Yamamoto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. King tries to bum rush Yamamoto with a series of wild strikes but Yamamoto uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Yamamoto dodges the punch combination from King.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yamamoto shoots in looking for a takedown. King tries to sprawl out of it but Yamamoto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. King manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Akira Yamamoto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brian King is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. King takes the fight into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Brian King showed his dominance in that final round. Well King has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
