Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Forester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCarthy comes into the arena with Crank That-Soulja Boy blaring out of the sound system. Forester has chosen Roar by Treat as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
McCarthy lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Forester scores with the left hand. McCarthy knows he should have avoided that one.
McCarthy stuffs the takedown attempt from Forester. Forester gets slowly back to his feet.
Forester shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McCarthy as he jumps to the side.
A chopping leg kick lands by McCarthy.
McCarthy throws a nice outside leg kick.
McCarthy tries to land a leg kick but Forester saw it coming and moves away.
McCarthy throws a head kick but Forester moves out of range.
Forester has taken the fight to the clinch.
McCarthy breaks the clinch.
McCarthy throws a head kick that misses.
McCarthy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Forester blocks a jab.
McCarthy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Forester misses with a few strikes there.

Forester shoots in for a takedown but McCarthy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ryan McCarthy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edward Forester.

McCarthy just misses with a punch to the body.
McCarthy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McCarthy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McCarthy is looking to slow Forester down with leg kicks.
McCarthy swinging wildly here.
McCarthy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Forester blocks a head kick by McCarthy.
Forester moves in looking to clinch but McCarthy pushes him off.
McCarthy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Forester shoots in but no luck this time.
McCarthy fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Forester is out of range.
McCarthy turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Forester is trying desperately to land a takedown but McCarthy is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Forester.

Nice uppercut there from McCarthy.
Some bone on bone action there as Forester checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
McCarthy throws a shot from downtown. Forester moves away and avoids it.
Ryan McCarthy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Forester throws a jab when McCarthy was well out of range.
McCarthy wants to slow Forester down by chopping away at his legs.
McCarthy stuffs the takedown attempt from Forester. Forester gets slowly back to his feet.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McCarthy stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Forester is still on wobbly legs! Can McCarthy finish him?
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! McCarthy has cracked Forester with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! McCarthy lands another huge swinging hook and Forester tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Forester, before McCarthy can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ryan McCarthy!
