Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Pyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabiano Martins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pyle comes to the cage accompanied by Bate Pesadão. Christopher Pyle looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Pyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabiano Martins!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Martins.
Pyle looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Martins throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pyle tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Martins is in Pyle's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Martins connects with a nice short shot to Pyle's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Martins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pyle tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Martins paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Martins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pyle is working to avoid the ground and pound but Martins connects with a decent elbow.
Check out the look on Martins's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The referee asks Martins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Martins prefers to stall for the moment though.

Martins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Nice takedown defense from Pyle. No joy for Martins on that attempt.
Martins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pyle's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Martins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pyle was covering up waiting for the punch and Martins finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Martins postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Martins is pushing down on Pyle's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pyle is fighting to maintain full guard but Martins has managed to sneak the leg through.
Martins wants to take a breather but Pyle is having none of it.
