The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Souto makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Souto moves into the clinch.
Black tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Black is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Black throws out a loose jab but Souto uses good head movement to avoid it.

Black tries to score a power double leg takedown but Souto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Black somewhat.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Black wants to work for an arm triangle but Souto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Souto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Souto moves out of range of the body kick from Black.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Black, as that shot connected.
Souto jabs Black right on the nose. Black blinks but takes it well.
Black connects with a body shot.
Souto is looking to clinch but Black is avoiding it.
Black dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Souto takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A punch lands to the side of Souto 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Souto bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Black's head backwards.
Black misses with a series of wild punches.

Souto shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
