Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jami Balkan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jami Balkan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jami Balkan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jami Balkan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cody Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balkan scores with a leg kick.
Duncan misses with a few strikes there.
Duncan tries to clinch up but Balkan circles away and keeps his distance.
Duncan shoots for a takedown but Balkan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cody Duncan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Balkan throws a sloppy body shot
and Duncan counters with a right hand to the body.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Balkan.
Duncan closes the distance and clinches up with Balkan, looking for a takedown. Duncan pushes Balkan against the cage but Balkan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Duncan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Balkan as he jumps to the side.
Jami Balkan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cody Duncan.
Balkan connects with a leg kick. Duncan looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Duncan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Balkan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Duncan looks to score with a jab to the body but Balkan is just out of range.
Balkan lands with a kick to the ribs.
Balkan lands a big head kick that sends Duncan tumbling to the mat! Balkan takes a step backwards and waves Duncan back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Balkan cracks a nice hook into Duncan's ribs.

Balkan lunges at Duncan with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Duncan's hand.

Duncan shoots for a double leg takedown but Balkan sprawls well. He's pushed Duncan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Duncan is still on wobbly legs! Can Balkan finish him?

Duncan seems to have recovered his senses.

Crunch! Balkan slams his shin into Duncan's torso.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Balkan, right into the meat.
Duncan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Duncan has closed the distance and engaged Balkan in a clinch.

Balkan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Balkan presses Duncan against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Balkan lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Duncan backwards.
Balkan lands with a light punch inside.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Balkan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Duncan avoids it.

Balkan works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Balkan cracks Duncan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Duncan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Balkan finish him?
Balkan feints and then cracks Duncan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Duncan down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Duncan misses the shot to the body.
Duncan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Balkan lands a nice shot to the body.
Balkan lands a brutal head kick. Duncan looks out on his feet and Balkan throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
